Casa Chinampa
Casa Chinampa (Island Garden) is an elegant, new, architecturally significant private home in Manzanillo, on the Mexican Riviera. Built in 2006, Casa Chinampa sits high on a granite cliff in the prestigious, gated community of La Punta (The Point) on the Santiago Peninsula. It commands a breathtaking 180 degree view of the ocean, Santiago Bay, and the layered mountains beyond.

The visitor enters Casa Chinampa through a massive wooden door and
is immediately transported into another world, one of exotic,
brightly colored gardens, water falling softly down 30 foot walls,
and flowing into sparkling canals that wind through the living
spaces and into the infinity pool.
Enigmatic stone sculptures of the old gods and goddesses and
original native art grace the walls.
The 7500 square foot, 4 bedroom, 4 1/2 bath casa celebrates the art
and culture of ancient Mexico while providing the most modern
amenities: A/C in all 4 bedroom suites (screens and overhead fans
for cooler evenings) satellite TV, surround sound, VCR, wireless
internet access, heated 50 foot infinity pool, with swim-up bar and
built-in water lounges.
The main outdoor living spaces are under an enormous palapa and
include a dining area with seating for 12, large living area and
another casual dining area for 8, plus a roof garden for romantic
dining for 6 under the stars. The huge marble and stone kitchen has
open shelving, a collection of antique pottery and cookware, plus
very modern appliances. |

La Punta is considered by many to be the most exclusive
residential community in Mexico. In addition to breathtaking homes, La
Punta has 24-hour manned security, a private beach and beach club with
lap pool, exercise equipment, bar and grill, 4 new, lighted tennis
courts, seating under a palapa above the courts with front row seats for
Margaritas and exquisite sunsets.
We have 3 bedroom suites, all at different levels for complete privacy
and a 4th bedroom with full bath on the main floor for visitors who
don't want to negotiate stairs.
The first bedroom suite has a sweeping view of the Pacific, bathroom
with bidet and covered balcony with couch and stone table.
The second suite has 2 single beds convertable to a king, full bath,
plus seating area with TV and VCR, and opens onto a large patio.
The third suite has king bed, shower and tub, 2 large built-in beds for
children and a its own garden seating area.
The 4th bedroom has a double bed, plus a trundle bed, full bath, and is
surrounded by a reflecting pool.
Our staff of 3: bi-lingual manager, chef and maid will tend to your
every wish graciously. You may choose to eat all your meals at Casa
Chinampa--just tell our skilled chef what you want: he will shop, cook
and serve when and where you choose. Or you may wish to try one of the
many local restaurants. Our house manager will make all reservations and
arrangements for activities, meals and tours, including bringing spa
services to you while you lounge poolside and read, listen to music or
daydream. It doesn't get any better!
